Terms of use
Last updated: 31 October 2026
These terms apply when you use ExpenSense on iPhone, Android or the web. ExpenSense is made by Ordenry Studio, operated by Bisheshwar Das, a sole trader based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia ("we", "us"). By using ExpenSense, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy.
1. Who can use it
You need to be at least 16, or have a parent's or guardian's permission. You may use ExpenSense for your own personal, non-commercial use.
2. Your account
You can use ExpenSense as a guest or with an account. Please give accurate details and keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password and contact us.
3. Plans and subscriptions
- Free is free and includes limits that are shown in the app.
- Plus and Pro are auto-renewing subscriptions, billed monthly or yearly. The price, in your local currency, is shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You're charged for the next period within the 24 hours before it starts.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription. Please cancel it in the store.
- If we change a subscription price, Apple or Google will tell you before it affects you, as their rules require.
- Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. We can't issue refunds for store purchases ourselves.
- If you redeem an offer or promo code, any extra conditions shown with it also apply.
4. Your data
The finance data you enter belongs to you. You give us permission to store and process it only so we can provide ExpenSense to you, for example syncing it between your devices on Plus or Pro. How we handle it is explained in our Privacy policy.
On the Free plan, and for receipt photos on every plan, your data is stored only on your device. If you lose the device or delete the app, that data can't be recovered unless you've backed it up. We recommend making regular backups (Settings → Sync & backup).
5. Not financial advice
ExpenSense is a tool to help you track your own money. It doesn't give financial, tax or investment advice. Totals, reports, insights and exchange rates are based on the information you enter and on third-party rate data, so they may not always be complete or exact. Please check anything important before you rely on it.
6. Using ExpenSense fairly
Please don't:
- use ExpenSense for anything unlawful;
- try to access other people's data, or get around our security or plan limits;
- copy, resell, reverse engineer or interfere with the app or its servers, except where the law allows; or
- overload the service or use automated tools to access it.
ExpenSense, its design and its content belong to us. These terms don't give you any rights in them beyond using the app.
7. Changes to the service
We keep improving ExpenSense, so features may change over time. If we remove a significant paid feature, we'll tell you in advance. We work to keep ExpenSense available, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms.
8. Consumer law and liability
Our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under it or under other consumer laws that apply to you.
Apart from those rights, and as far as the law allows:
- ExpenSense is provided "as is";
- we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on the app; and
- our total liability to you is limited to supplying the service again, or the amount you paid us for ExpenSense in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using ExpenSense at any time and delete your account in the app (Settings → tap your name at the top → Delete account). See Delete your account. Sections 4, 5, 8 and 11 continue to apply after your use ends.
10. App Store terms
If you downloaded ExpenSense from the Apple App Store:
- these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we (not Apple) are responsible for the app and its support;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- if the app fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app;
- Apple isn't responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory claims, consumer protection claims, or claims that the app infringes someone else's intellectual property;
- you confirm you're not in a country subject to a US Government embargo and not on a US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties; and
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Your use of the app must also follow the App Store Terms of Service.
11. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. If we change them, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
